What kind of Town Square park do you want?
Decide for yourself and tell the Town Board and opposition candidates.
To the left of CRAFT'D are the buildings of the East End Arts Council that will be moved, lose 10' x 220' of yard space and be hidden behind Petrocelli's hotel/condo
This glossier rendering below offers a sense of the dominant presence of Petrocelli's hotel/condo, overshadowing the Suffolk Theater and the Town Square and blocking the view from East Main Street of the amphitheater and the East End Arts Council.
Tell the opposition candidates what should happen if they are elected on November 4:

- Mark Woolley, Board Member votemarkwoolley@gmail.com

While I’m not a Riverhead resident, picture # 2 does look a lot better than picture # 1.
ReplyDeleteFive story hotels have a certain kind of attraction but this one dominates the space of what is supposed to be a town square. If downtown needs more hotel rooms, they can be built on West Main Street.
DeleteIt’s certainly not unusual for town squares to have hotels (many do not look as good as this one). Town square v. West Main Street seems an odd cause celebre.
